Websites for owner-run shops that sell with Square

Your business deserves its own address.

We turn your Square page into a custom website on a domain registered in your name. Square keeps handling your orders, bookings and payments, exactly as it does now.

  • No change to how you take payments
  • See your site before you pay anything

The difference

Square runs your register. Your website should be yours.

A free Square page gets you online. Your own site gives customers a name they remember, a page built around your business, and details Google can show in local search.

A free Square page compared with your own website
Free Square page Your own website
Web address yourshop.square.site yourshop.com, registered to you
Design Built from Square’s templates Designed around your shop, your sign and your photos
Local search The basics Hours, address and business details set up so search engines can read them
Orders & bookings Square Still Square, the same checkout your customers already use
If you ever leave us The site stays inside Square Your domain and site files are yours to keep

Square Online’s paid plans can also connect a custom domain. What we add is a site designed for your business and set up for local search, which you own outright.

How it works

Four steps, and you see the site before you decide.

  1. Send us your Square link

Tell us where you sell today. We start from what’s already there: your menu or services, prices, hours and photos.

  2. Get a free preview

We build a working preview of your new site and send you the link. Open it on your phone, show it to your regulars.

  3. Pick your domain

We help you choose a name like yourshop.com and register it in your name, so it stays yours.

  4. Go live

We launch the site, connect your Square buttons, and help you update the website link on your Google Business Profile.

What you get

A site that does the jobs your customers need.

Most people visit a local business site to answer three questions: are you open, where are you, and how do I order or book? Your site answers all three in one tap.

  • Built for phones first. Call, directions and your order or booking button stay at the bottom of the screen.
  • Your domain, in your name. We set it up; you hold the account.
  • Connected to Square. Buttons go straight to your Square store, booking page or payment link.
  • Today’s hours, front and center. Customers see at a glance whether you’re open.
  • Ready for local search. Business name, address, hours and contact details in a format search engines understand.
  • Fast and light. A single lightweight page with no plugins, apps or trackers to slow it down.
  • Secure. Served over HTTPS, with the padlock customers expect.

Our work

Every business gets its own look.

Questions

Good questions to ask before you switch.

Not answered here? Send us a note and we’ll reply.

Do I have to stop using Square?

No. Square keeps doing what it does well: payments, your point of sale, online orders and bookings. Your new site sends customers to the same Square checkout or booking page they use today.

Can’t Square Online connect my own domain?

Yes, on its paid plans. The difference is what sits on that domain: a site designed for your business and set up for local search, which you can take anywhere. You’re not tied to one platform’s templates.

Who owns the domain and the website?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, and the website is a set of files you can keep, move or hand to someone else at any time.

Will you need my Square or email password?

Never. For most sites we only need the public links to your Square store or booking page. For your domain and Google listing, you invite us with our own login and can remove us any time. Here’s exactly what we ask for and how to share it safely.

What happens to my square.site page?

That’s up to you. Most owners keep it running as their online store, add a “We’ve moved” message that links to the new site, and point the new site’s “Order” or “Shop” button back at it. That’s exactly what Alli Pop Dye Shop did. If you only used it as a website, you can unpublish it a few months after launch, once customers and Google have caught up. See the options.

Do I need to write anything or take photos?

No. We start from what’s on your Square page today. If you have better photos or want to tell your story in your own words, we’ll use them, but it’s not required to get a preview.

How long does it take?

It depends on how much there is to bring over. When you send your link, we’ll tell you when your preview will be ready.

Free preview

See your new site before you spend a dollar.

Send us your current Square link and a way to reach you. Here’s what happens next:

  1. We look at your current page and what you sell.
  2. We build a preview of your new site.
  3. We email you the link. If you like it, we talk domains. If not, no hard feelings.

We’ll only use these details to reply about your website. No mailing lists, and we never share them.
